Helvellyn and Catstycam

Helvellyn - The English Lake District

This view is over Red Tarn to Helvellyn and Catstycam from the start of the ridge that leads up from Patterdale The photo is a montage of two shots taken with the Sony P120E Handycam. The montage was accomplished using the Arcsoft Panorama Maker V3.0 Software and some hand crafting of the output.

Arcsoft's Panorama Maker V3.0

However the main thing that determines the final result is the original material, i.e. the individual shots themselves. The key issue with this panorama was that second shot, the right most half of the picture above, had a significant red cast to the cloud/sky.

It took a considerable amount of processing with Paintshop Pro to achieve the result above. Arcsoft's Panorama Maker is the second real attempt to assess properly software designed to 'stitch' multiple images together to form a seamless 'Panorama'. In the dim and distant past I have manually stuck together paper prints, photographs to form a single image. Later scanning these as a single entity. The software used to produce the montage in the shot of Helvellyn above is Arcsoft's Panorama Maker V3.0. I have also used Ulead's 360smdhgk. In the case of the Arcsoft product the first thing one notices is the almost total lack of control over the process you have. In some ways this is advantageous as Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Donec eleifend augue ut nunc. Proin lacinia. Duis elit.
